Yash wants to take Indian cinema to global level

Yash clearly said in a recent conversation that now is not the time to make films only for the local audience but Indian cinema will now have to reach the audience all over the world. He said that foreign audiences are interested in different cultures and watching new stories, but along with this there is also a global standard of cinema which is important to achieve.

According to Yash, the presence of Indian films abroad is continuously increasing, but the real change will come when the international audience will also like Indian films like Hollywood films. This is not just a matter of content, but is related to the way the entire film industry works.

Said this about the Indian film making system

Yash also openly expressed his opinion about the working system of the Indian film industry. He said that the problem is not the audience, the system is the boss! In the West, films are completed first, then proper planning and marketing takes place for 6 months, with full studio setup. What happens here? Invest the money last minute, release the film as soon as possible, because the business pressure is very tight. This thinking also completely influenced the making and release plan of Toxic.

Big plan regarding toxic

Yash told that the entire making of ‘Toxic’ was done with this thinking in mind. He said, ‘We have shot Toxic in English and are also taking time for the release. Our aim is to reach the global non-diaspora audience not just in OTT but in theatre.

According to him, this film is not being made only for the Indian audience, but there are preparations to present it at the international level as well. Yash says that someone has to create a global success model for Indian cinema and perhaps ‘Toxic’ can prove to be the first big step in that direction.
