Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, which was set to mark Kannada star Yash’s return to the big screen after four years, has been postponed from 19 March to June 2026 due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East following the joint US-Israel strike on Iran.

On 4 March, the actor-producer shared a statement from the film’s makers announcing the new release date. The statement read: “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is a film we envisioned for a global audience. Shot in Kannada and English, it was created with the goal of connecting with viewers both at home and abroad. After years of dedicated work, we were excited to release it on 19 March. However, the current uncertainty in the Middle East affects our ability to reach the widest possible audience.”

The makers added that the decision to postpone the release to June was made “in the interest of our partners and our audience.” The statement confirmed the new date: “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups will now release globally in cinemas, in English and Indian languages, on 4 June 2026.”

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the hyperviolent action saga also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria. The film had already generated significant buzz following its teaser and look reveal, both of which stirred some controversy.

With Toxic postponed, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 will now enjoy a solo release on 19 March, avoiding a clash with the Yash-starrer.
