Yash’s ‘Toxic’ teaser sparks AAP Women’s Wing complaint: report

The teaser of Kannada film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Upsstarring Yash, drew a formal complaint from the Aam Aadmi Party( AAP) Women’s Wing, which was submitted to the Karnataka State Women’s Commission, according to India media reports.

The teaser, which was released on January 8, coincided with Yash’s 40th birthday and gained wide attention across social media platforms.

A short scene shown in the teaser featured the actor inside a car with a woman, which led to criticism from certain groups.

As reported by NDTVthe AAP Women’s Wing alleged that the visuals contained content they described as inappropriate and harmful to women, children, and cultural values. In the complaint, the party requested the Commission to look into the matter and take action regarding the public circulation of the teaser.

AAP State Secretary Usha Mohan stated that the teaser was released without any age restriction or content warning.

“The teaser was released on open platforms without any content disclaimer,” Mohan said, as per the report.

The Karnataka State Women’s Commission reportedly received the complaint and was expected to review it under its standard process. No official statement from the Commission was issued at the time of reporting.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups featured Yash in the role of a gangster named Raya.The film was co-written by Geetu Mohandas and Yash and included performances by Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi, Sudev Nair, and Rukmini Vasanth.
