India’s first in-space docking: The year 2025 began with a major historic achievement by the Indian space sector. On 16 January 2025, India’s ISRO successfully in-space docked two satellites into orbit. This made ISRO’s SpaDex mission a huge success. Satellites SDX-01 and SDX-02 were docked in-space. Automatic docking of these satellites makes India the fourth country to demonstrate this capability. This will help India in future space missions, space stays and satellites.

100th Rocket Launch with GSLV-F15: After this, ISRO launched its 100th rocket on January 29, 2025 from Sriharikotta. India also launched GSLV-F15 with this rocket. The navigation satellite NVS-02 has been launched into orbit by this rocket. This milestone was very special for India’s space sector.

NASA and ISRO’s NISAR mission: India’s space agency ISRO successfully launched the NISAR mission in collaboration with NASA. It is the world’s first dual frequency synthetic inertial radar satellite and can monitor earthquakes, snowfall, volcanoes, weather changes instantaneously.

Aditya L1 : Apart from this, India’s first solar observatory, Aditya L1, also became operational successfully. ISRO made 15 terabytes of mission data available to global researchers. This enabled India to make high-resolution observations of solar flares, coronal mass ejections, solar winds and magnetic storms.

Axiom-4 Mission: Among all these campaigns, the most successful and proud campaign was that of Shubhanshu Shukla. Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian astronaut to go to the International Space Station. He conducted microgravity experiments in space for 18 days. He also hoisted the tricolor of India on the space station.
