The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of lightning and heavy rain in various parts of Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain bad in Chhattisgarh till September 27.

Not only this, light to moderate rain is expected in different parts of Gaurela Pendra Marwahi, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Saranggarh-Bilaigarh, Sakti, Mangeli, Korba, Janjgir, Raipur, Balodabazar, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Durg, Balod, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Khairagarh Chhuikhadan Gandai, Rajnandgaon, Mohla Manpur Ambagarh Chowki, Kanker and Narayanpur districts.

Meanwhile, according to a PTI-Bhasha report, 8 people were killed and another person was injured in a lightning strike in Rajnandgaon district on Monday. Some school children were also among the dead. The incident took place at around 1.30 pm in Joratarai village under Somni police station area. A day earlier on Sunday afternoon, a child died and eight others were seriously injured in a lightning strike in Sakuli village of Janjgir. The lightning struck when 22 people, including children, were picnicking near a pond.
