Yellow alert for lightning and heavy rain in Chhattisgarh

The weather has turned bad in various parts of Chhattisgarh. 8 people have died due to lightning in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded at many places in the state. The highest rainfall of 3 cm was recorded in Rajim of Gariaband district. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of lightning and heavy rain in various parts of Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain bad in Chhattisgarh till September 27.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for moderate to heavy rain in most places of Gariaband, Bastar, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma districts during the next 24 hours. Not only this, light to moderate rain is expected in different parts of Gaurela Pendra Marwahi, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Saranggarh-Bilaigarh, Sakti, Mangeli, Korba, Janjgir, Raipur, Balodabazar, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Durg, Balod, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Khairagarh Chhuikhadan Gandai, Rajnandgaon, Mohla Manpur Ambagarh Chowki, Kanker and Narayanpur districts.

The Meteorological Department says that the same weather pattern will be seen on September 24 as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of moderate to heavy rain in most parts of Gariaband, Dhamtari, Balod, Bastar, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Kanker, Narayanpur and Bijapur districts on September 24. During this time, a warning of thunderstorm has also been issued at many places. The Meteorological Department says that light to moderate rain can be seen in Chhattisgarh till September 27. Thunderstorms can also be seen at some places.

Meanwhile, according to a PTI-Bhasha report, 8 people were killed and another person was injured in a lightning strike in Rajnandgaon district on Monday. Some school children were also among the dead. The incident took place at around 1.30 pm in Joratarai village under Somni police station area. A day earlier on Sunday afternoon, a child died and eight others were seriously injured in a lightning strike in Sakuli village of Janjgir. The lightning struck when 22 people, including children, were picnicking near a pond.
