Bombing at Sana'a airport in Yemen, WHO Chief Tedros narrowly escapes
New Delhi: On Thursday, Israel bombed the airport in Yemen's capital Sanaa. WHO chief Dr. Tedros was present at the airport during the attack. They narrowly escaped. He himself has revealed this in a social media post. The WHO chief had arrived in Yemen to negotiate the release of UN staff held hostage by Houthi fighters.
Attack occurred as soon as boarding the plane
WHO chief Dr. Tedros said that he and his colleagues were about to board the plane when the airport was attacked. In which a member of his plane was injured and two people present at the airport died. The chief said his companions and he were safe, but they would have to wait until the airport was repaired before leaving Sanaa.

condemned the attack
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned the attack in Sanaa. Along with this, he has also talked about respecting international law. He said civilians and humanitarian workers should never be targeted. Guterres regretted recent tensions between Yemen and Israel, saying airstrikes on Sanaa International Airport, Red Sea ports and power plants in Yemen are extremely dangerous.
Israel attacked Yemen
The Israeli Air Force attacked Houthi military positions in the West Bank and interior areas of Yemen. The IDF said Thursday that the strikes were carried out with the approval of the prime minister, the defense minister and the chief of the general staff. These attacks targeted Houthi military infrastructure, which they were using for their military activities.
