In this meeting, many big and important proposals related to the state’s infrastructure, health services, electricity system, expansion of metro in cities and reservation in Panchayat elections have been approved. Mirzapur gets a big electricity power station worth about ₹2800 crore
Mirzapur district of Purvanchal has got a big gift in the cabinet meeting. The Government has approved setting up of a mega power substation of 765/400 KV capacity and associated transmission lines at Mirzapur. With this power project, which will be built at a huge cost of Rs 2,799.47 crore, the electricity supply system in Uttar Pradesh will become stronger than before. The government claims that after its construction, the general public, traders and factories will be able to get electricity 24 hours a day without any cuts, which will also create new employment opportunities.
1100 bed hi-tech emergency center will be built in Lohia Institute
In the field of health, a big and relief news has come for the patients of Lucknow and surrounding districts. Now a 1,100-bed state-of-the-art emergency medical center, a new teaching building and OPD building will be built in the new campus of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences at Shaheed Path. The Cabinet has given the green signal to this grand project of ₹855 crore. With this, serious patients will no longer have to wander for treatment and students studying medicine in UP will also be able to get excellent training.
Budget approved for Lucknow and Agra Metro, now trains will run
The Cabinet has passed major proposals to make the metro journey more luxurious in two big metros of Uttar Pradesh. Approval has been given to transfer land for the construction of new metro station and elevated routes under the second corridor of Agra Metro. At the same time, there is good news for the people of the capital Lucknow that the Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Government, State Government and UP Metro Rail Corporation for the new ‘East-West Corridor’ to be built from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj has been finalized. About Rs 5,801 crore will be spent in building this entire new route.
Honorarium increased for veterinary students, pockets will be heavy
Yogi government has also taken a sensitive decision to take care of dumb animals and promote medical education. In the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to increase the internship i.e. training allowance (stipend) of the students studying in the field of veterinary medicine. The government believes that with this decision the students will get good financial support during their studies and training, which will enable the state to get more expert doctors in the field of veterinary medicine.
Approval for formation of Backward Class Commission for Panchayat elections
The government has also made its strategy clear regarding the upcoming three-tier Panchayat elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh. The Cabinet has approved the formation of ‘Uttar Pradesh State Local Rural Bodies Dedicated Backward Classes Commission’ to decide the correct reservation of backward classes in elections. This special commission will make a complete study of the population of backward classes and their representation in villages and panchayats and on the basis of the same will submit necessary suggestions related to reservation to the government. There will be a total of 5 members in this commission, whose command will be handed over to a retired judge of the High Court as the chairman.
“Sardar Patel Apex University” will open in Chunar, Mirzapur.
Yogi government has given another big gift to Purvanchal to advance the youth in the field of higher education. The Cabinet has decided to set up a new university in Samaspur village under Chunar tehsil of Mirzapur district. The name of this new university will be “Sardar Patel Apex University”, for the construction of which the government has given approval to issue Letter of Intent. With the construction of this university, local students will not have to go to other big cities for higher education.
