CM Yogi’s announcement: ‘Miyapur’ of Lakhimpur Kheri will now be ‘Ravindranagar’, gift of 213 projects

Lakhimpur Kheri: Yogi Adityanath made a big announcement during his visit to Lakhimpur Kheri on Saturday and announced changing the name of Miyanpur village in Kheri district to ‘Ravindranagar’. Addressing the public meeting, the Chief Minister said that this name change is being done in the honor of Gurudev Rabindranath and now this village will be known by a new name. During this, the Chief Minister, while targeting the previous governments, said that earlier the name of the village was named Miyanpur to hide its identity, whereas no Miyan lives here. He said that the present government is working to respect historical facts and local identity.

Inauguration and foundation stone laying of 213 projects

During the program, Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 213 development projects. Along with this he distributed transferable and non-transferable landholding rights letters to Hindu families displaced from Bangladesh. Describing this as not just an administrative decision, but a “historic moment of justice”, the Chief Minister said that people deprived of rights for years are now getting respect and ownership. CM Yogi said that for the first time in history the Tharu community is being given their rights. During this period, rights letters for 5338 hectares of land were distributed to 4356 Tharu families in Chandan Chowki area. Apart from this, in 1955, 2350 families coming from Eastern Uttar Pradesh were also given ownership of 4251 hectares of land. He said that now these communities will not have to face any kind of trouble from the Forest Department, Revenue or Police Department.

Rights under CAA, attack on opposition

Yogi Adityanath said that displaced families from Bangladesh are being given rights under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He alleged that Congress Party and Samajwadi Party had opposed this law and obstructed in giving rights to the displaced people.
He also accused the opposition of remaining silent on issues related to the Hindu and Sikh communities, while the government was working for the development of all sections. Further in his address, the Chief Minister also mentioned Pakistan and said that because of it the Hindu community had to face atrocities and many families had to be displaced. Referring to the events of 1971, he said that further changes are possible due to regional conditions. This statement can be discussed a lot politically.

The Chief Minister said that the “double engine government” under the leadership of Narendra Modi has been working for the development of every section of the society for the last nine years. He said that the government’s aim is to provide justice and respect to every person, and this decision is an important step in this direction. This visit of Yogi Adityanath is being considered important from both political and administrative point of view with decisions like announcement of changing the name of Miyanpur to Ravindranagar, starting of large-scale development projects and distribution of land rights.
