Yogi Cabinet announces new jail in 5 districts of the state, 1725 electric buses will operate in 17 municipal corporations
Lucknow : In the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 24 out of 25 proposals were approved. These also include a big decision related to strengthening the public transport system of the state. The Cabinet has given green signal to the proposal to run 1725 new electric buses (1,725 Electric Buses) for 17 Municipal Corporations, Noida and Jewar Airport. About Rs 1852 crore will be spent on this project and it will be operated on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The government will provide the necessary depots to operate the buses, while private companies will operate the buses. Along with this, lawyers have also been given a gift. Revised the rate of retainership and daily fees given to state law officers. The retainership of the District Government Advocate was nine thousand, now it will be Rs. 14 thousand. The fee will be Rs 2500 per working day instead of Rs 1650. A decision has also been taken to build new jails in five districts.
Under the Electric Bus Scheme, 725 nine meter length AC electric buses and 1000 small electric buses will be purchased. To encourage the purchase of buses, the government will provide a subsidy of up to Rs 40 lakh on big buses and Rs 35 lakh on small buses. Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Kanpur will get maximum 300-300 buses. 250 buses have been allotted to Varanasi. Apart from this, 100-100 buses will be given to Agra and Ghaziabad, 50 to Mathura and 25-25 to Moradabad and Saharanpur. Buses will also be allocated for other municipal corporations and Noida-Jewar area.
Approval received for construction of five new prisons in the state
Apart from this, approval has been given for construction of five new prisons in the state. New prison in Moradabad, prisoner capacity will be 2000. A jail with a capacity of 552 prisoners will be built in Lalitpur. The new jail in Auraiya will have a jail capacity of 1056 prisoners. A prison with 2020 prisoner capacity will be built in Kanpur. A jail with a capacity of 574 prisoners will be built in Bhadohi. Funds have been approved for all. As per the order of NHRC, all such prisoners who die in mutual fights will be given Rs 5 lakh. Rs 5 lakh on death of a prisoner due to lack of medical attention or staff. If someone dies due to suicide, a compensation of Rs 3 lakh will be given. Jail Minister said that there are 86762 prisoners in UP.

Purchasing arrangement twice a year
Along with this, procurement of coarse grains is the priority of the government. The minimum support price of maize was earlier Rs 2225. Now the price has been fixed at Rs 2400 per quintal, increasing by Rs 175. Procurement will take place from June 15 to July 31. 1150 purchasing centers will be opened including Firozabad, Agra, Mainpur, Aligarh, Kasganj, Hathras, Badaun, Kanpur Nagar, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Rampur, Sambhal, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Etawah, Mirzapur, Ballia, Gonda and other districts. Will increase more if needed. A target of purchasing 25 thousand metric tonnes of maize was set. The target of payment to farmers has been set within 48 hours. Arrangements have been made for procurement twice a year.
