Yogi gave a 'great gift' from Mahakumbh, UP will become a master of aerospace, these important proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting
Prayagraj: On one hand, believers from all over the world are gathering in the world's largest religious-social gathering 'Maha Kumbh 2025', on the other hand, the Yogi government of the state has also given a 'great gift' to the state through this Maha Kumbh. A cabinet meeting was held at Tirtharaj Prayagraj on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in which the Yogi government approved 10 important proposals to speed up the development of the state.
In this, a new policy has been approved with the aim of making Uttar Pradesh a 'maharathi' in the aerospace and defense sector. Under this, the target is to attract investment of Rs 50 thousand crores. After the implementation of this policy, there is a strong possibility of 1 lakh youth of the state getting direct employment.
In order to give a great gift to the state from Maha Kumbh Nagar, among other important proposals, the Yogi Cabinet has given its seal of approval to the FDI policy for foreign companies to set up industries. Under this, Yogi government will give up to 80 percent subsidy on land. Apart from this, Yogi government has also taken steps towards major reforms in UP Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy.
The aim is to strengthen the aerospace and defense sector in UP.
The meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Triveni Sankul in Mahakumbh Nagar. During this, Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defense Unit and Employment Promotion Policy 2024 was approved. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath intends to make Uttar Pradesh a leading aerospace and defense hub, which will accelerate indigenous capabilities, innovation and global collaboration to ensure national security and economic prosperity.
The objective of this policy is to strengthen the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) sector in UP. It aims to create a strong, world-class, high technology and efficient A&D manufacturing environment in the UP Defense Industrial Corridor (UPDIC). Apart from this, startups and investments will also be attracted to develop state-of-the-art centers in the A&D sector. Not only this, the Yogi government has also taken steps forward in creating an A&D based common facility center for skill and capacity development of startups and MSMEs in the UP Defense Industrial Corridor. Attracting major A&D manufacturing projects and DPSUs to the state, promoting research are also major parts of this policy.
AI and software development centers will also be encouraged
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has a clear intention to promote the development of companies in the state that support India's vision of self-reliance in A&D. Through this policy, Artificial Intelligence and software development centers will also be encouraged in the A&D sector. Under the policy, along with attracting investment of Rs 50 thousand crore in the next five years, employment opportunities will be provided to 1 lakh youth. Under this policy, front end subsidy will also be provided to the units of A&D sector. In this, land subsidy, stamp duty exemption and capital subsidy will also be given. Apart from this, Yogi government will also provide facilities like discount on transport charges. Not only this, women entrepreneurs will be given great relief through this policy.
Target to double aerospace and defense production
Let us tell you that the Defense Ministry has set a target of doubling the aerospace and defense production in the country to 25 billion US dollars and exports to 5 billion US dollars by 2025-26. It is estimated that by 2047 the aerospace and defense manufacturing sector will contribute 25 percent to the country's gross domestic product. In view of this, two defense industrial corridors have been established in the country by the Defense Ministry in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
