A cabinet meeting was held at Tirtharaj Prayagraj on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in which the Yogi government approved 10 important proposals to speed up the development of the state. In this, a new policy has been approved with the aim of making Uttar Pradesh a 'maharathi' in the aerospace and defense sector. Under this, the target is to attract investment of Rs 50 thousand crores. After the implementation of this policy, there is a strong possibility of 1 lakh youth of the state getting direct employment.

Yogi cabinet has given its seal of approval to the FDI policy for foreign companies to set up industries. Under this, Yogi government will give up to 80 percent subsidy on land. Apart from this, Yogi government has also taken steps towards major reforms in UP Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy.

The objective is to strengthen the aerospace and defense sector in UP.

Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defense Unit and Employment Promotion Policy 2024 was approved during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Triveni Complex. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath intends to make Uttar Pradesh a leading aerospace and defense hub, which will accelerate indigenous capabilities, innovation and global collaboration to ensure national security and economic prosperity.

It aims to create a strong, world-class, high technology and efficient A&D manufacturing environment in the UP Defense Industrial Corridor (UPDIC). Apart from this, startups and investments will also be attracted to develop state-of-the-art centers in the A&D sector. ,

AI and software development centers will also be encouraged.

Under the policy to encourage Artificial Intelligence and Software Development Center in A&D sector, along with attracting investment of Rs 50 thousand crore in the next five years, employment opportunities will be provided to 1 lakh youth. Under this policy, front end subsidy will also be provided to the units of A&D sector. In this, land subsidy, stamp duty exemption and capital subsidy will also be given. Apart from this, Yogi government will also provide facilities like discount on transport charges. Not only this, women entrepreneurs will be given great relief through this policy.

Target to double aerospace and defense production.

66 bed Government Joint Hospital, Balrampur will be transferred. For the establishment of Autonomous State Medical College, Balrampur, the 166-bed Government Joint Hospital, Balrampur should be transferred free of cost in favor of the Medical Education Department and the satellite center of King George Medical University being established in Balrampur district should be transferred to the Autonomous State Medical College, Balrampur. Approval of subsidy on land allotted under incentive policy.

Yogi government also approved the payment of subsidy payable to UPSIDA on the land allotted under the incentive policy for investment of FDI and Fortune 500 companies.

HLEC's recommendations got approval.

The Yogi Cabinet also approved the recommendations made in the meetings of the High Level Empowered Committee (HLEC) constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary in August and September 2024. Under the scheme, the government's priority is to open medical colleges in those districts where no medical college is established under the government or private sector.
