Big decision of Yogi government, now registration can be done in UP on Sunday also
In the tehsils of the state where more than one sub-registrar office is operating, now the facility of registry will be available on Sunday also. The Stamp and Registration Department has made important changes in the roster of offices by implementing the new system. This new system has become effective after the government order issued by the Inspector General of the department, Neha Sharma.
This decision is being considered as a big relief for the common people, especially the working people and the citizens coming from far away places.
Why was the change necessary?
For some time, there was a demand for change in the working timings of registry offices. Many people come from other districts and states for property registration. Since Sunday was a holiday, he had to take extra leave. Apart from this, this step is considered important towards making the registration process more transparent and systematic after the mandatory requirement of Aadhaar.
There has also been an increase in the cases of land purchase under government development schemes. Officials of the concerned departments were often able to reach the sub-registrar’s office only after six in the evening. In such a situation, the need for extension of time was being felt for a long time.
How will the new system be implemented in Lucknow?
There are five sub-registrar offices operating in Sadar tehsil of Lucknow. Under the new roster system, an office will remain open from 1 pm to 8 pm. Online appointments can be taken from 1 pm to 7 pm.
Lucknow’s Assistant Commissioner Stamp II Ramesh Kumar said that the rest of the offices will function from 10 am to 5 pm as before.
An office in Sadar Tehsil will open on roster basis from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday also. The office which will be opened on Sunday will be given holiday on next Saturday. If the second Saturday of the month falls, then in that case the concerned office will remain closed on Friday.
What will be the provisions in other tehsils?
This new system will be implemented in Sarojini Nagar and Mohanlalganj tehsils of Lucknow also since there is more than one sub-registrar office. However, there is only one sub-registrar office each in Bakshi Ka Talab and Malihabad tehsils, hence the old system will continue there as before.
The new roster system is expected to make registration services more accessible, transparent and citizen friendly. This step is being considered an important initiative towards administrative reforms.
