Yogi government is running 261 free hostels, government hostels have become a boon for the poor and deprived.

Lucknow. Under the leadership of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, hostel facilities for Scheduled Caste and Tribe students in Uttar Pradesh are proving to be a boon in the field of education. To overcome the residential problems of students studying away from their homes, Yogi Government is constructing and operating hostels through the Social Welfare Department. In these hostels, not only free accommodation facility is being provided, but facilities like furniture, sports material and electricity are also being provided.

Thousands of students are getting benefit from 261 hostels

The government is running 261 hostels in the state, out of which 178 hostels are reserved for boys and 83 for girls. Thousands of students are moving towards shaping their future by availing the benefit of free facilities in these hostels. This initiative is a commendable effort to connect the students of deprived and poor class with the mainstream of society through education.

Yogi government is spending crores of rupees on quality facilities for students

Yogi Government is spending crores of rupees to strengthen the infrastructure of hostels and facilities for students. Modern facilities like mess, toilets and sports facilities are being provided at standard level in these hostels. Also, steps are being taken to develop these hostels as model hostels by studying the parameters of other states. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a provision of Rs 125 crore for the strengthening of hostels in the budget for the financial year 2024-25. This amount will be used to modernize the hostel infrastructure and provide better facilities to the students.

More than 8 thousand students are taking advantage of the facility

According to the data of the Social Welfare Department, more than 8,000 students are benefiting from these hostels in the current financial year 2024-25. Till now the government has spent approximately Rs 25 crore on their operation. Even in the last financial years, the government has given priority to the needs of the students. Around Rs 27 crore was spent for 9,000 students in the year 2022-23, while in 2023-24 the figure was more than Rs 38 crore for 8,500 students.

Due to the efforts of Yogi government, students from deprived classes got new hopes in the field of education.

This initiative of Yogi Government is opening new doors of education for the students of deprived class. Students are not only getting a chance to get education but are also moving towards self-reliance and a better future. These facilities being provided in the hostels are promoting the quality of education and creating a strong foundation for social harmony.
