New picture of change in villages of UP due to schemes of Yogi government, every class is benefiting
Now the change in the rural areas of Uttar Pradesh is not limited to just government announcements and schemes, but its impact is clearly visible on the ground. The speed at which the state government has worked in the field of rural employment and livelihood under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a new identity to women empowerment in the villages. Now women are no longer just employed workers, but are emerging as leaders who take charge of the rural system.
Record achievement in rural employment
The financial year 2025–26 has proved to be historic for Uttar Pradesh in terms of rural livelihoods. During this period, more than 23 lakh women got employment opportunities in the state. This achievement provided economic strength to millions of rural families and proved to be a big step towards self-reliance. The special thing was that the participation of women in the creation of Manav Divas reached 43 percent, which shows that now women are playing an equal role in the work force of villages.
Women became leaders, not just workers
The biggest impact of the policies of the Yogi government was that women were not limited to employment only, but they were also brought forward in responsible positions. In the current financial year, more than 32 thousand women METs have been entrusted with the responsibility of various works. These women mates are performing important responsibilities like monitoring the work, recording the attendance of workers, quality and management of works. The government has sent an amount of more than Rs 111 crore to these women METs directly into their bank accounts, which increased transparency and strengthened trust in the system.
Self-help groups become the basis of strength
The role of Self Help Groups (SHGs) has also been very important in strengthening women leadership in rural areas. Women associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission are being given priority and being given participation in work and decisions. Due to this, the management capacity of women is developing and they are playing their role strongly on the economy, needs and development plans of the village.
Confidence increased through timely payment
The biggest challenge in employment schemes is the payment system, but there are signs of improvement in this too in UP. According to the data, more than 97 percent workers were paid on time. This increased the confidence of the workers and sent the message that they would get the value of their hard work on time, which further strengthened the credibility of rural employment.
New sources of income in villages
So far, an amount of more than Rs 6703 crore has been spent under rural employment schemes in the state. This expenditure gave impetus to development works, increased employment at the local level and helped in curbing migration. Besides, the government also strengthened the model of inclusive development by giving priority to Scheduled Caste and Tribe families.
Strong Women, Strong Villages
This initiative of Yogi government is now becoming not just a plan but an example of social change. Uttar Pradesh is moving towards a women-based development model in villages by combining employment, leadership and financial self-reliance. Today, the strong women of the villages are becoming the new identity of the state and the biggest strength of the rural economy.
