Yogi government’s good news for farmers, MSP will increase income, farming will become a profitable deal!

Lucknow. Relief news has emerged for the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. The state government has decided to continue purchasing crops at the minimum support price (MSP) even in the Rabi season 2026-27. The aim of this step is to provide fair prices to the farmers for their produce and strengthen their income.

State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi informed that the government procurement of gram, lentils and mustard will start from April 7 and continue till June 30. During this period, special attention will be paid to making the procurement process more transparent and convenient.

Fixed price will be available on MSP

The government has fixed support prices for major pulses and oilseed crops, so that farmers can be protected from market uncertainty.

Gram: ₹5875 per quintal

Lentils: ₹7000 per quintal

Mustard: ₹6200 per quintal

Pigeon pea: ₹8000 per quintal

These rates have been increased compared to last year, which will directly increase the earnings of farmers.

Purchasing targets

This time the government has set clear targets for the purchase of crops. A target has been set to purchase lakhs of metric tonnes of gram, lentils and mustard, so that more and more farmers can get the benefits of the scheme.

Transparency through digital system

The procurement process is being made completely digital. Aadhaar based machines are being installed at all purchasing centres, which will ensure identification of genuine farmers. Payment will be sent directly to the bank accounts of farmers through DBT, which will eliminate the role of middlemen and there will be no delay in payment.

Adequate availability of fertilizers

The government has also clarified that there is no shortage of fertilizers in the state. Supply of fertilizer as per requirement has been ensured in all the districts, so that farmers do not face any kind of problem.

Emphasis on seeds and plans

Special attention is also being given to seed distribution and other schemes to empower the farmers. Subsidies and free seeds have been provided to a large number of farmers, thereby reducing the cost of farming. The government has appealed to the farmers to complete their farmer registry in time. With this, they will be able to easily get the benefits of government schemes.
