Mythology of Ramanathaswamy Temple

 

Ramanathaswamy Temple, which is located in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, Lord Shiva is worshiped in this temple. According to religious stories, Lord Ram himself worshiped Lord Shiva in this temple. When Lord Rama killed Ravana, he worshiped Lord Shiva here to get freedom from his sins.
