You will be surprised what Sam Konstas said about Bumrah after his brilliant debut.
New Delhi: The fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where Sam Constance impressed everyone with his brilliant debut. The 19-year-old young batsman completed his half-century in just 52 balls and took Jasprit Bumrah's bowling aggressively to the boundary. In his first Test match, he played a quickfire inning of 60 runs and enthralled the audience.
Bumrah is my target
Sam Constance revealed his strategy against Jasprit Bumrah, saying, “I wanted to continuously target Bumrah and I expected him to bowl again. Whatever happens on the field, one should focus on that. That's where the fun of competition lies.” In the first session before lunch, he was unbeaten on 56 during the drinks break. After completing his half-century, Sam Constance received a standing ovation from the Melbourne Cricket Ground crowd. “It was a great experience. I just wanted to play with complete freedom and enjoy the opportunity,” he said.
Ravindra Jadeja did the walk
However, this aggressive game of Kontas could not stand in front of Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja gave him out LBW in 19.2 overs. Constance's debut innings included 6 fours and 2 sixes, one of which was a reverse scoop against Bumrah. He was out to Jadeja after scoring 60 runs in 65 balls at a strike rate of 92.30.
