New Delhi: Argentina’s legendary football player Lionel Messi is arriving in the capital Delhi on Monday morning for the last leg of his four-city India tour. After winning the hearts of fans in Hyderabad and Mumbai in the last two days, Messi will now be seen in Delhi. In view of the disturbances that occurred during the first phase of the tour in Kolkata, this time very strict security arrangements have been made in the national capital.

The administration is fully alert regarding Messi’s arrival in Delhi. Security agencies have been put on alert and every activity, from their stay to their events, is being closely monitored.

Where will Messi stay?

According to media reports, Lionel Messi and his entire entourage will stay at The Leela Palace Hotel in Chanakyapuri. An entire floor of the hotel has been reserved for them. Messi and his team will stay in Presidential suites, the rent for which is reportedly between Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh per night.

According to sources, the hotel staff has been given strict instructions not to make public any information related to Messi’s stay. This hotel, located just half an hour away from the airport, is going to be transformed into a kind of fort during his presence.

Exclusive ‘Meet and Greet’ worth Rs 1 crore

The report also reveals that a closed-door ‘meet and greet’ has been organized for select VIP guests and corporate clients. The price of this exclusive interaction has reportedly been kept at Rs 1 crore.

Will meet top celebrities

Lionel Messi will meet the Chief Justice of India and several MPs during his brief stay in Delhi. However, his proposed meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not take place, because the PM has left for Jordan on Monday morning itself. This tour is part of his foreign tour of three countries including Ethiopia and Oman.

Arun Jaitley Stadium

Messi will then go to the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where a special football clinic has been organised. During this, he will honor those teams of Minerva Academy which have won three youth trophies. A nine-player football match will also be organized as part of the programme.

Meeting sports stars at Purana Qila

After the stadium program, Messi will visit the Purana Qila. Here he is expected to meet many great personalities of Indian sports, including Rohit Sharma, Paralympic javelin gold medalist Sumit Antil, boxing world champion Nikhat Zareen and Olympic high jump medalist Nishad Kumar.
