You will not be able to put a black mark on Nehru ji’s contribution, Gaurav Gogoi replied to PM Modi in Lok Sabha.

Vande Mataram Debate in Parliament: Discussion has started in Parliament on the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started this debate in the Lok Sabha. During this, PM Modi, while referring to the 150 years of history of Vande Mataram song, reminded of the emergency imposed in the country. After this, Gaurav Gogoi also addressed the House on behalf of the Congress Party. During this, he also responded to PM Modi’s allegations.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said on Vande Mataram, ‘There were many songs and slogans like Jhanda Uncha Rahe Hamara, Inquilab Zindabad, Jai Hind, Satyamev Jayate, Quit India, words which gave strength to the Indian society in our freedom struggle. After the failure of Mangal Pandey’s rebellion, there was restlessness in India and the oppression of the British increased.

You will not be able to put a black mark on Nehru ji.

Gaurav Gogoi said, ‘Modi ji’s aim was to give a color to politics. He mentioned Congress Working Committee and Pandit Nehru ji. I have a table that whenever Modi speaks on any subject, how many times he takes the name of Pandit Nehru and Congress. Pandit ji’s name was taken 14 times in Operation Sindoor. Took name of Congress party 50 times. No matter how hard you try, you will not be able to put a black mark on Nehru ji’s contribution.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said, ‘Muslim League used to say that the entire Vande Mataram should be boycotted. Where did the Muslim League get this right? Will the country be run according to them? No. Absolutely not. Maulana Azad clearly said that I have no objection to Vande Mataram. This was the difference between Maulana Azad and Jinnah of Muslim League. Even under a lot of pressure, it was decided that wherever there is a conference, we will sing the first two lines.
