Young man died in a road accident. Angry villagers blocked the road. On Shio’s assurance, the jam was cleared after 3 hours.

Mirzapur. After the death of a youth in a road accident on Sunday night in Galra village of Drumdgaj police station area, the villagers and their family members protested on Monday evening. They placed a dead body on the Halia Drumdgaj road near the Ghada turn of Galra village and blocked it. This jam lasted for 3 hours.

On receiving the information, Drumdagaj police station chief Bharat Suman and Halia police station chief Rajeev Srivastava reached the spot. He tried to convince the angry family members but they remained adamant on the demand of calling the SDM and CO.

At around 8:00 pm, former MLA Suryabhan also reached the spot and tried to convince the villagers but the protesters were not ready to open the road jam. At 9:00 pm, Lalganj CO Amar Bahadur and Naib Tehsildar Pratap Narayan Ojha also appealed to the family members to remove the jam.

The angry family members demanded immediate arrest of the absconding tractor driver from the CO and registration of a criminal case against him. The CO assured to register a criminal case against the tractor driver and arrest him soon.

After the CO’s assurance, the family members and villagers removed the body from the road and ended the jam. Due to the road being blocked for about 3 hours, the pedestrians had to face a lot of trouble in commuting.

This accident happened on Sunday night on Galra mode when a tractor hit the bike. In this accident, bike rider Raju, resident of Galra village, was killed while bike driver Ravi Shankar was seriously injured.
