Young man gets hit by highway at Keredari Basheer Chowk, narrowly escapes life

A painful road accident was almost averted on Friday near Basheer Chowk under Keredari Panchayat. Here, Pankaj Kumar, son of Gopal Sao, resident of Karmahi, was seriously injured after being hit by a Haiva truck. However, it was fortunate that the young man’s life was saved. After the incident, with the help of local people, the injured Pankaj Kumar was immediately taken to Arogyam Hospital in Hazaribagh, where his treatment is going on. According to doctors, the condition of the injured is currently stable, but it may take time for complete recovery.
As soon as information about the accident was received, angry family members and villagers blocked the road at Basheer Chowk. They were demanding strict action against the highway driver and owner. Traffic remained disrupted for some time due to road jam. On receiving the information, JLKM leader Baleshwar Kumar, Deputy Chief America Mahato, Basant Yadav, Prayag Rana, Baijnath Mahato and Dilip Sao reached the spot and talked to the family members and pacified them. During this, the owner of the highway assured to bear the entire expense of the treatment of the injured youth.
After the intervention and assurance of the leaders, the family members calmed down and the road jam was lifted peacefully. It is noteworthy that accidents are continuously increasing in Keredari area due to high speed and carelessness of highway vehicles. Local people have demanded from the administration to control the speed of heavy vehicles and strict monitoring.
