A shocking incident of taking law into one’s hands has come to light from Piran Kaliyar area of ​​Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. A shopkeeper making langar near the world famous Dargah Hazrat Sabir Sahib beat a young man severely with burning wood.

During this, there was chaos on the spot and an eyewitness made a video of the incident and posted it on social media. After the video went viral, the accused shopkeeper left the shop and absconded.

In the viral video, it is clearly visible that the shopkeeper is taking out burning wood from the stove and attacking the young man. In the background of the video, it is being said that the mobile has been stolen. It is alleged that the victim youth was trying to steal the shopkeeper’s mobile phone, due to which the angry shopkeeper attacked him fatally.

Police role and official statement

Questions have also been raised over the unavailability of local police at the time of the incident. According to the information, Piran Kaliyar police station in-charge Inspector Kamal Mohan Bhandari was busy in the crime control meeting organized in Haridwar, due to which he could not be contacted immediately. Considering the seriousness of the matter, SP Dehat has ordered an investigation.
