Your feet don’t get warm even inside the bed? Be careful, your body is giving you this big warning
News India Live, Digital Desk: Today is January 8 and it is extremely cold in many parts of the country including North India. Many of us might be sitting wearing thick woolen socks on our feet at this time. But does it ever happen to you that even after wearing a couple of socks or hiding under a blanket, your feet remain as cold as a block of ice? Often we dismiss it as ‘bone-chilling cold’. We think that maybe it is too cold, that is why the feet are not getting warm. But according to doctors and health experts, this is not just the effect of weather. If your feet are cold even after wearing warm clothes, it means that your body is giving you some signals internally. Let us know what could be the 3 major reasons which are preventing your feet from getting warm. 1. Poor Blood Circulation: Our blood works to transport heat to the body parts. If for some reason blood is not able to flow properly to your feet, then your feet will remain cold. Often, due to habits like sitting in one place for a long time, not exercising or smoking, the veins in the legs get compressed. This can also be an early sign of diabetes or heart related problems.2. Anemia or Iron Deficiency: Do you know that hemoglobin present in the blood carries oxygen to every part of your body? If there is iron deficiency in your body, then hemoglobin will be less, which will reduce the circulation of oxygen. When the body does not get enough oxygen, the ends of the body (hands and feet) start remaining cold. Along with this, you may also feel tired and weak.3. Thyroid problem (Hypothyroidism) Our thyroid gland works like a ‘thermostat’ of our body, which controls the body temperature. If you have hypothyroidism (low thyroid), your metabolism slows down. Slow metabolism means less heat generation inside the body. In such a situation, no matter how many layers you wear, you will always feel shivering in your feet and hands. What should you do? If this problem persists in this winter season, then just changing the socks is not enough. Increase iron-rich items in your diet such as beetroot, spinach and dry fruits. Do some physical exercise (Walk or Stretching) so that blood circulation improves.
