Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib arrested, sent to police remand for four days
Tezzbuzz Desk- Delhi Police has arrested Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib and sent him on four-day police remand. Police claim that the workers who entered the Mandapam had gone on their instructions and had complete knowledge of the matter.
According to Delhi Police, when the workers entered the Mandapam and were raising slogans and clashing with the employees, Uday Bhanu Chib was the mastermind of this entire conspiracy. Police said that T-shirts have been recovered in the case and other accused who are in Himachal, Jammu and Amethi are also to be arrested. Police say that this case is not just a local clash, but was also an attempt to harm India’s image at the global level.
Uday Bhanu Chib’s lawyer said during cross-examination in the court that protesting is a right in a democracy and it cannot be considered a crime. The lawyer accused the police of making a big deal out of the T-shirt issue, while serious crimes like murders are taking place in Delhi.
The lawyer also said that seven-eight T-shirts have been recovered, and the police are investigating the factory, while the accused are cooperating in the investigation. He requested the court to give minimum remand and adopt the method of presenting one officer daily.
The main point of debate between the police and the defense is the T-shirt and the alleged conspiracy through it. The police are considering it serious, while the defense says it was part of the protesting rights.
