‘Yuvraj doesn’t need to apologise’: Kapil Dev shows big heart

The old dispute between the great Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev and former cricketer Yograj Singh is once again in the headlines. Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh is often known for his sharp and controversial statements. Recently he had made serious allegations against 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev. Yograj had claimed that Kapil Dev ruined his career and was behind his expulsion from North Zone, Haryana and the Indian team. Not only this, he compared Yuvraj Singh with Kapil Dev and said that his son has more ICC trophies than Kapil.

Yuvraj’s apology and Kapil’s big heart

Yuvraj Singh has publicly apologized several times after his father’s statements. But this time when Kapil Dev was questioned about this, he expressed his views with great maturity. During a podcast, Kapil Dev clearly said that Yuvraj does not need to apologize to him at all. He praised Yuvraj a lot and called him an excellent cricketer, who has won the love of crores of people through his game.

‘It is better to distance yourself from those who are bitter’

Talking about Yograj Singh, Kapil Dev said, “I still consider Yograj as my friend. I have no bitterness towards him, but I do not like to meet people who have bitterness in their hearts.” The former captain further said that it is very important to move forward in life. He said sarcastically, “If your nature is like this, no one will like you. His son has achieved so much in cricket, he should be proud of it.”

‘It is not my nature to abuse or slap’

While giving his views regarding this entire controversy, Kapil Dev said that the nature of a person is revealed only by his reactions. He said, “You get a lot in life, but you should not keep bitterness in your mind. There is no place for such people in the world. What if I suddenly start abusing or slapping someone? You have to learn to move forward in life.”

Kapil reminded that he and Yograj were childhood friends and played cricket together. He said that things change with time and sometimes relationships get spoiled over small things, but the good moments spent together should never be forgotten. Currently, this statement of Kapil Dev is going viral on social media and fans are praising his decency.
