The 28-year-old actress channeled Cher’s iconic style on Saturday as she introduced the latest inductee at the Cleveland-based museum.

On stage, Zendaya dazzled in a beaded gold gown featuring criss-cross cutouts and a sheer skirt, paired with a white satin coat from Bob Mackie Couture’s Fall 2001 “Foreign Intrigue” collection. She completed the look with gold Christian Louboutin heels, gold bracelets, and diamond earrings. Her hairstyle mirrored Cher’s signature look, with sleek, straight hair parted in the middle and flowing down her back.

Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, described the gown as a “nude illusion halter-gown, entirely hand-beaded in gold, diamond, and iridescent bugle beads, as well as aurora borealis stones.”

Fans on social media were quick to praise Zendaya’s look, with many saying she was the “perfect person” to embody Cher’s style.

According to CNNthe gown was reminiscent of a Bob Mackie design that Cher famously wore in 1972. Mackie, who has crafted many daring, ab-revealing outfits for Cher throughout her career, once noted in a 2019 interview with Fashionista: “Every time Cher wore one of those get-ups, it would be in the paper the next day — all over the country.”

Zendaya, known for her roles in “Euphoria,” the “Spider-Man” trilogy, and “Dune,” has risen from Disney Channel stardom to become one of Hollywood’s leading actresses. At 24, she made history as the youngest winner of the Emmy Award for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Rue in “Euphoria.” She is currently dating her “Spider-Man” co-star, Tom Holland.

Cher, now 78, is an Oscar and Grammy-winning singer and actress often called the “Goddess of Pop.” She revolutionized the music industry with her 1998 hit “Believe,” which popularized Auto-Tune, now widely known as the “Cher effect.” Over her six-decade career, Cher has delivered numerous iconic hits, including “If I Could Turn Back Time,” “Strong Enough,” and the classic “I Got You Babe” with Sonny Bono.
