Zepto delivery doubles as alarm, helps woman catch early morning flight

Quick commerce services are often praised for late-night convenience, but a Mumbai man has shown how they can also become a lifesaver in unexpected situations. A viral LinkedIn post has captured attention after Rishabh Agarwal used a Zepto delivery to wake his sister in time for an early morning flight.

A moment of panic sparks quick thinking

According to Agarwal, his sister had a 6.00 am flight and had asked their mother to wake her up at 3.00 am. However, when his mother’s phone was found switched off at 3.15 am, panic set in. With the distance between Parel and Powai making a physical visit impractical at that hour, Agarwal chose an unconventional solution.

Instead of travelling across the city, he placed an order on Zepto to his sister’s address, explaining the urgency to the delivery partner.

Delivery partner goes the extra mile

The order was placed at 3.20 am, and the delivery partner, identified as Vikas, immediately agreed to help. Agarwal shared that Vikas stayed on call with the family for nearly ten minutes and ensured the delivery was completed by 3.30 am, effectively waking his sister and confirming her safety.

The sister eventually caught her flight on time, turning what could have been a stressful situation into a memorable example of presence of mind and human support.

Company and public react warmly

Agarwal thanked Zepto’s co-founders Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, calling the platform a “safety check for loved ones”.

Reacting to the post, Zepto COO Vikas Sharma said he was proud of the delivery partner for going beyond expectations.

Social media users praised the creativity behind the idea, noting how real-world product value is often discovered by users themselves. While some pointed out practical limitations in gated societies, many agreed the incident highlighted how quick commerce, combined with human empathy, can make a real difference in everyday life.
