New Delhi: The Pakistani cricket team is currently on a tour of Zimbabwe. A three-match ODI series is being played between the two teams. This series is very important in terms of preparations for the Champions Trophy. In the second match of this series, Pakistan created history by winning by 10 wickets under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan.

Actually, Pakistan had to face defeat in the first match of the series. Although the result of that match was decided by DLS due to rain, even if the match had been completed, the Zimbabwean team would have won. But now the Pakistani team has won the second match and the series is tied. This victory of Pakistan is not an ordinary victory, but this victory under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan is historic. Pakistan has worked to end the drought for about 13 years.

Under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan won the second match against Zimbabwe by a full 10 wickets. Earlier, Pakistan had won the ODI match by ten wickets 13 years ago i.e. in 2011. Since then such a big victory was not been achieved, but now this victory has been achieved under the captaincy of Rizwan. The interesting thing is that if this victory is included, then the Pakistani team has won only five ODI matches by 10 wickets so far.

Pakistan got its first ODI win by ten wickets in the year 1986, when the team defeated New Zealand in Sharjah. After this, it had to wait a long time. In the year 2008, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets in its home Karachi. After this, the team did this feat twice in the year 2011.

The first team defeated West Indies by 10 wickets in Mirpur and then defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in Harare. After the year 2011, now in the year 2024, Pakistan has won the ODI match by 10 wickets, in such a situation this victory becomes even more special.

Talking about the match, Zimbabwe batted first and scored 145 runs for the loss of 10 wickets. The team could not play the full 50 overs of its quota and was out in 32.3 overs. No batsman could even cross the 50 mark. After this, Pakistan’s victory seemed close. But it was not expected that the team would win this match without any loss.

Pakistan’s opening pair won the match by scoring 148 runs without any loss in just 18.2 overs. Sam Ayub scored 113 runs in just 62 balls. At the same time, Abdullah Shafiq played an important innings of 32 runs in 48 balls and played a role in getting his team victory.
