Zomato Platform Fee Hike: The ongoing war between Iran and Israel has started affecting your food and drink. After the increase in LPG cylinders and petrol and diesel, private companies have also started increasing their prices. In this series, food delivery platform Zomato has given a big shock to its consumers. According to the information given by the company, Zomato has now increased the platform fee per order by 2 rupees 40 paise. After this you will have to order food from Zomato.

Let us tell you here that before the implementation of GST, the platform fee was Rs 12 50 paise per order, which has now become Rs 14 90 paise. Earlier in September 2025 also, Zomato had increased the fees. Let us tell you here that Swiggy, the company that competes with Zomato, is currently charging Rs 14.99 per order as platform fee. It is being told that it is possible that Swiggy may increase the platform fees for orders in the next few days.

Why were platform fees increased?

Company startup Rapido has informed that it will not charge any additional fees from restaurants apart from delivery fees from consumers. However, this argument is not being accepted by the people. After this step of Rapido, it was inevitable that the prices would increase.

Experts say that in the era of inflation, competition has also increased. The food delivery company also has to compete with Rapido. Rapido has started its own online service. This platform is active in Koramangala, HSR and BTM Layout areas of Bengaluru. It is said that Zomato and Swiggy charge 16-30 percent commission from restaurants, whereas Only charges 8-15 percent. In such a situation, problems were bound to arise. This is the reason why Zomato has decided to increase the platform fees.
