Would you like to work on the post of 'Chief of Staff' in Zomato, you will have to pay so many lakhs of rupees.
New Delhi: Zomato is the best food platform among online food delivery platforms. People like to eat its food but if you are planning to work in Zomato then there is good news for you. Here, there is a job for the post of 'Chief of Staff' but there will be no salary for it, rather the potential candidates for the post of 'Chief of Staff' have been asked to pay Rs 20 lakh for the first year.
This information has been given by Deepinder Goyal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of online delivery platform Zomato.
How is the search for the Chief of Staff
On 'X' on the social media platform, Goyal wrote in the information about this post, looking for a 'Chief of Staff', whose post description is as follows “Joe Zomato (including Blinkit, District, Hyperpure and Feeding India) ) to build its future.” He claimed the role would provide “10 times more learning opportunities than a two-year degree from a top management school.”
“It will be an opportunity to work with me and some of the most thoughtful people in consumer technology.” However, he added, “This role is not a traditional role with the usual perks that come with such jobs.”
Will not get job in first year
Here on the salary details, Goyal wrote, “There will be no salary for this post in the first year.” Rather you will have to pay Rs 20 lakh for this opportunity. 100 percent of this ‘fee’ will be donated directly to Feeding India (if you are offered this position and you accept it).” “From our side, we want to make it clear that we are not trying to save money here,” he said.
We will contribute Rs 50 lakh (equivalent to the salary of the Chief of Staff) to any charity of your choice.” Goyal said that from the second year onwards “we will start giving you a normal salary (definitely more than Rs 50 lakh), but we will talk about this only at the beginning of the second year.”
You will have to pay to learn
In further details about the job here, Goyal asked candidates to apply for the post only because it would give them “an opportunity to learn, and not for the sake of some lucrative, well-paid job that you might get for yourself or them.” “It will make you look good in front of people you want to impress.” In other words, he said, “Look at it as a learning program that offers both personal and professional development… whether you are successful in the role or not.” “We want people who are learners for this role, not people who make ‘resumes’.”
Goyal said that for this post, a person is required who has the desire to learn something, should have common sense, should be sympathetic and for this, not much experience is required… so that there is no burden of anything on him. He said he is looking for someone who is “down to earth…wants to do the right thing, even if it means angering others…and most importantly, has an eagerness to learn.”
