Haldwani. Uttarakhand’s daughter, Renu Dhariyal, has set the Guinness World Record for the longest living woman in the world. Renu, a resident of Haldwani, has achieved a length of 271.50 centimeters, or approximately 8 feet 10 inches. With this historic achievement, Renu has broken the record of Ukraine’s Aliya Nasyrova, who had 257.33 cm, and has earned the title of the world’s new “Hair Queen.” Guinness World Records officially announced Renu Dhariyal’s name on August 7, 2026. Her hair length was officially measured in April of this year in her home state of Uttarakhand.
10 Years of Hard Work and a Unique Record
Renu Dhariyal has not cut her hair for the past 10 years. Since 2015, she has completely stopped cutting her hair. Today, her hair is nearly the height of a normal room, or the height of Robert Wadlow (272 cm), the tallest man in history. Renu believes that long hair is a symbol of Indian culture, tradition, and women’s empowerment.
Created a ‘world record’ at home without going to a parlor
Renu Dhariyal has established herself as a YouTuber and content creator. She avoids using expensive chemicals, beauty parlors, or foreign products to care for her hair. Her achievement is based on home-grown and traditional remedies. Renu prepares a special herbal oil at home by mixing amla, shikakai, and coconut oil. Furthermore, she uses only natural, chemical-free shampoos. Furthermore, washing, drying, and detangling such long hair takes hours, which she accomplishes with immense patience and hard work. She keeps her hair in a long braid during her daily activities. The success of Renu Dhariyal, who hailed from a small town in Uttarakhand and brought glory to India on the global stage, has sparked a wave of joy across the country and state. People are also continuously congratulating her on social media for becoming the world’s new “Hair Queen.”
