100 electric buses will run on the roads of Noida

There is great news for lakhs of passengers of Noida and Greater Noida. Intercity electric bus service is going to be started for the first time in the city. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the buses through virtual medium at 10 am today, after which the operation of these buses will start. With this, not only will access to Jewar Airport be easy, but people living in Greater Noida West will also get a big relief by getting the facility of public transport for the first time.

The entire fleet of electric buses has reached the bus depot located in Sector-90 and all preparations have been completed before operation. At present, a total of 100 electric buses will hit the roads, including 10 double decker buses.

For smooth operation of buses, hi-tech fast charging stations have been installed in Sector-90 bus depot. With their help, buses can be fully charged in about two hours. Along with reducing pollution, operation of electric buses will also result in huge savings in fuel expenses. These buses will be jointly operated by Noida Authority and Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation.

When are the flights starting?

It is noteworthy that commercial flights are to start from Noida International Airport from June 15. In such a situation, to ensure easy access of passengers to the airport, electric bus service is being started from today. This will provide better public transport option to the people of Noida, Greater Noida and Greater Noida West to reach the airport.

How much is the fare for these buses?

Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, the bus fares have been kept very affordable. It is being told that the minimum fare will be fixed at Rs 10 and the maximum fare will be fixed at Rs 30. This is expected to provide great relief to employed people, students and daily commuters.

The residents of Greater Noida West are likely to benefit the most from these buses. As of now, there is no regular public transport facility available in Greater Noida West, due to which people have to resort to autos and cabs to travel to and from Noida and Delhi. Lakhs of people here have been demanding metro service for a long time.

Now with the start of intercity electric bus service, millions of people will get better and regular public transport facilities for the first time. This can reduce dependence on private vehicles and there is also a possibility of reducing traffic pressure.
