There have been complaints of irregularities at 77 polling booths and demands for re-polling have been made, however, orders for re-polling have been issued only at 15 booths. After investigation, the Election Commission has canceled the voting at the polling stations where irregularities were found under Section 58(2) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Let us tell you that during the voting on April 29, a case of BJP’s election symbol being taped on the EVM at the booth of Falta Assembly in South 24 Parganas came to light and a complaint was also made to the Election Commission in this regard.

The Election Commission had said that an investigation would be conducted and if the allegations were found true then voting would be held again. However, no order has been issued by the Election Commission yet. Let us tell you that this time record voting percentage has been recorded in both the phases. Almost all exit polls have predicted the formation of BJP government with the change of power in Bengal this time. However, Chief Minister Banerjee has rejected the exit polls and claimed that her party TMC will win more than 226 seats.
