Kolkata. The SIT probing the murder of Chandranath Rath, PA of West Bengal CM Subhendu Adhikari, has got major information. News channel India Today, quoting SIT sources, has said that SIT has received new information about the car used in the murder of Chandranath Rath. According to the channel, the Micra car used in the murder of Shubhendu Adhikari was purchased from UP. On the night of Chandranath Rath’s murder, this car filled toll at two places in West Bengal. The Fastag with which this toll was paid is linked to the bank account of a person from Jharkhand. However, SIT sources have not yet revealed the person with Fastag.

Chandranath Rath was murdered while returning home on the night of 6 May. When Chandranath Rath was near his house in Madhyamgram in North 24 Parganas, adjacent to Kolkata, his path was blocked by a car. Then the car and bike riders fired indiscriminately at Chandranath. Chandranath died on the spot. Whereas, their driver was seriously injured. Even before investigating this incident, the SIT has reached the conclusion that Shubhendu Adhikari’s PA was murdered by professional shooters. SIT feels that the attackers had conducted recce for several days to murder Chandranath. Chandranath was earlier in the Indian Air Force. After retiring from there, he became PA of Shubhendu Adhikari.

After this incident, Shubhendu Adhikari, while giving a statement to the media, had expressed suspicion that perhaps Chandranath Rath was murdered because of his winning the election against Mamata Banerjee in Bhawanipur. BJP workers were very angry after the murder of Chandranath Rath. He was pacified by Shubhendu Adhikari and told that the police is investigating the matter. Even after four days of Chandranath Rath’s murder, not a single accused has been arrested. Now, due to the connection with Jharkhand, it seems that those who killed Shubhendu Adhikari’s PA could be from the same state. In this case, SIT teams of West Bengal had also reached Badaun and Sambhal in UP.
