New Action By Suvendu Adhikari: Latest action by West Bengal CM Subhendu Adhikari, lakhs of people will be excluded from this government facility.

Kolkata. Taking the latest action, West Bengal CM Subhendu Adhikari has decided to evict lakhs of people from a government facility. Names of about 63 lakh people were deleted in the intensive verification of voters in the state i.e. SIR. Now the government of CM Subhendu Adhikari has issued an order to cancel the ration cards of the voters deleted in SIR. However, the Shubhendu Adhikari government has said in the order that those who have applied for citizenship under CAA or have appealed to the tribunal to get their names added to the voter list, will continue to get free food grains on their ration cards till the final decision is taken in their cases.

‘Khadya Sathi’ scheme was run in West Bengal during Mamata Banerjee’s TMC government. Under this, about 2 crore people of the state were given free ration. Mamata Banerjee government used to spend about Rs 15,000 crore a year on Khadya Sathi scheme. Now the Shubhendu Adhikari government fears that like many other schemes, in Food Sathi too, ineligible people continue to get the facilities of free ration on a large scale. Therefore, physical verification of all ration card holders has been ordered. All SDOs and BDOs have been asked to give the list of voters removed in the SIR to the food inspectors. On the basis of which door-to-door verification will be done. Instructions have been given to complete it by June 15 under all circumstances.

Earlier, West Bengal CM Subhendu Adhikari himself had told that under the ‘Lakshmir Bhandar’ scheme implemented during the Mamata Banerjee government, all the men were also given Rs 1500 every month. The police have arrested many such people. Apart from this, investigation also revealed that many men were also taking widow pension. CM Shubhendu Adhikari has ordered strict action in all such cases. As a result, the police is now catching the troublemakers.
