Delhi Government’s New EV Policy 2026: New EV Policy 2026 approved in Delhi Cabinet, know what is special in it and when is it planning to be implemented?
New Delhi. Delhi government has decided to implement the new EV Policy 2026 to increase people’s inclination towards electric vehicles in view of increasing air pollution. After the approval of the new EV Policy 2026 in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, it will now be sent to the Lieutenant Governor for the final approval. It is targeted to be implemented from July 1, 2026. CM said that this policy will remain in force till March 31, 2030. After its implementation from July 1, every resident of Delhi will be able to take advantage of this policy.

– Under the new EV policy, all electric cars with ex-showroom price of Rs 30 lakh or less will get 100 percent exemption from road tax and registration fees.
– All electric two-wheeler buyers will get a subsidy of Rs 30,000 and three-wheeler buyers will get Rs 50,000 in the first year of the EV policy.
– Vehicle owners will be given an incentive of up to Rs 10,000 for scrapping old two-wheelers having emission norms of BS4 or below. Whereas an amount of up to Rs 1 lakh will be given for scrapping a four-wheeler.

CM Rekha Gupta said that it is completely focused on electric vehicles, especially zero-emission vehicles, the aim of which is to gradually make Delhi a pollution-free city so that the people here benefit. We have made a comprehensive plan to implement it in a phased manner over the next four years. We have included two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, N1 trucks and ‘Rural Service’ vehicles in this policy. I would like to point out that this policy will cost ₹7,000 crore in these four years alone. Additionally, we are investing ₹8,000 crore in building EV infrastructure and waiving road tax every year. Overall, we estimate that the people of Delhi will benefit approximately ₹15,000 crore from this policy.
