Vigilance Raid On Former ARTO’s House In UP: Former ARTO in UP turns out to be Dhankuber, 13 kg gold, 9 kg silver and Rs 1.62 crore cash recovered


New Delhi. Uttar Pradesh Vigilance team, while taking action in the case of disproportionate assets, raided the house of former Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Lalit Kumar in Lucknow. During this period, the Vigilance team has recovered 13 kg gold and 9 kg silver, Rs 1.62 crore in cash and diamond jewellery. The estimated value of gold, silver and jewelery is said to be around Rs 20 crore. Apart from this, documents related to movable and immovable property were also found in many cities, the total value of which was estimated to be around Rs 35 crore.

Former ARTO Lalit Kumar

During the raid, the vigilance team also scrutinized the details of bank accounts. The team has also found papers related to investments worth more than Rs 1 crore in post office, mutual funds and fixed deposits. During the investigation, the vigilance team also noticed that a huge amount had been spent on the design and decoration of the house. The vigilance team also recovered a licensed revolver, an Innova car and an i20 car during the raid. At present the Vigilance team is investigating and after the completion of the investigation, legal action will be taken against Lalit Kumar.

A case of amassing disproportionate assets was registered against Lalit Kumar two years ago in 2024. The investigation against him in this case registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act was continuing. In this sequence, the investigation team obtained a search warrant from the court at Lalit Kumar’s house. Based on the permission of the court, an intensive search operation was conducted at Lalit Kumar’s house in Aliganj for 2 days (7 and 8 July). According to the Vigilance team, as the investigation progresses, some more properties of Lalit Kumar may also be known.
