According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain from UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh to West Bengal and Northeast. Apart from this, strong storm may also occur at many places. An alert has been issued for landslides due to rain in the hilly states.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may also occur in Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. An alert of heavy rain and storm has been issued in the Ganga coastal areas in West Bengal. Heavy rains are likely to continue in Assam as well as other states in the Northeast. Due to this, the flood situation in Assam may become more dire. According to the Meteorological Department, cyclonic circulation persists in the north-western part of the Bay of Bengal. At the same time, a low pressure area has also formed in Madhya Pradesh and surrounding areas. Because of this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many states.

The Meteorological Department had recently said that due to heavy rains, only 12 percent less water had fallen than the average rainfall. This has also brought great relief to the farmers. However, the Meteorological Department had already predicted that this year there will be less than average rainfall due to El Nino. Monsoon season in India lasts from June to September. This year, there are chances of intermittent rain for a few days during the monsoon season. Before this, there was an effect of La Nina for two consecutive years and due to this, more than average rainfall was seen.
