New Delhi. The Nihang who attacked former Punjab Deputy CM and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal with a saber in Nanded, Maharashtra has been identified. According to NDTV, Nanded SP Neelabh Rohan said, Nihang's name is Jaspal Singh and his age is around 60-62 years. He is a serviceman and has been living in Nanded for the last two years. Nihang has claimed to the police that he is a law graduate. At present he is being interrogated. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Sukhbir Badal's wife Harsimrat Kaur to inquire about his well-being. At present, the condition of Sukhbir Singh Badal is said to be fine.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took detailed information regarding the incident from Nanded SP Neelabh Rohan and issued orders for investigation. Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde also inquired about the condition of Sukhbir Singh Badal from Harsimrat Kaur over phone and wished for his speedy recovery. According to media reports, attacker Nihang Jaspal Singh told the police that he has studied law from Pune. He said that Sukhbir Singh Badal had made Punjab drunk due to which he was very angry and that is why he attacked him.

Let us tell you that after visiting Mugat's Mata Saheb Gurudwara, when Sukhbir Singh Badal was coming down the stairs for darshan, a Nihang attacked him with a Kirpal. Sukhbir Badal is injured in his hand. One of his security personnel also got injured while saving him. Badal and his security personnel were immediately taken to the hospital where they are undergoing treatment. When Sukhbir Badal was attacked, his wife Harsimrat Kaur was also with him.
