New Delhi. Landslides and floods due to heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh have caused a lot of devastation. Flash floods hit two army shelters in Dibang Valley district. Five army soldiers have gone missing in this incident. According to military officials, seven soldiers of the 5th Grenadier were swept away, out of which two were rescued, while five others are being searched. An SDRF team has also been called for the rescue operation. Four civilians have lost their lives in a landslide incident in Upper Subansiri district.
Two search and rescue teams of 5th Grenadier have already been deployed to search for the missing soldiers. Now teams comprising 62 RCC of General Reserve Engineer Force, local volunteers and Arunachal Pradesh Police personnel have also been sent to assist them. Fire and emergency service personnel have also been called from Daporijo so that the search for the soldiers can be expedited and they can be traced as soon as possible. The missing soldiers include Havildar Kundan, Aditya, Vinod, Upender and Samunda. Those killed in the landslide in Upper Subansiri district have been identified as Tadu Baqi, Taji Rai, Markosh Basumatari and Babul Ali. Both these incidents occurred on Friday evening.
