In Dachhan area of ​​the district, a Mahindra Scorpio car with Haryana number went out of control, slipped from the road and fell 200 feet into the Chenab river. Five people riding the Scorpio died in this incident. It is being told that all the people in the car were laborers working on a project going on in Damduru. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem. It could not be confirmed how many people were in the vehicle.

As soon as information was received about the accident, the team of Dachhan police station immediately reached the spot and started relief and rescue operation. Local people also helped in this. Investigation has been started to find out the cause of the accident. Information is being collected regarding the deceased to identify them. According to the police, it is not yet clear whether there was anyone else in the vehicle apart from these five people. This incident occurred around 10:45 in the morning. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over the death of five people in this accident. Taking cognizance of the incident, Union Minister Jitendra Singh spoke to Kishtwar DC Pankaj Kumar Sharma on phone and directed to conduct the rescue operation quickly.
