New Delhi. If you have an account in State Bank of India (SBI), then read this news carefully. SBI has given very important information. This information is about withdrawing cash from your bank account. SBI has decided that from October 1, 2026, its customers will be able to withdraw cash from their Basic Savings Bank account only 4 times without any extra charges. SBI has asked its customers to note this important change and conduct transactions accordingly.

New Rule for ATM Transaction..

SBI has made new rules regarding cash withdrawal only for Basic Savings Bank accounts. That is, those bank accounts which have been opened directly through bank branches. SBI's basic savings bank account is essentially zero balance. It is opened to provide banking services to the people without keeping any minimum amount. RuPay Debit Card is also given to Basic Savings Bank account holders. Under the new rule, cash can be withdrawn from such accounts only 4 times every month without any charges. If you withdraw cash more than this, you will have to pay Rs 15 and GST on every transaction.

SBI has said that all digital transactions from Basic Savings Bank accounts will remain free as before. That means there is no restriction on their number. Rest of the time, a limit of 4 times has been fixed on withdrawing cash through bank branch and ATM. Already SBI is providing the facility to withdraw cash from other bank's ATM 5 times every month without any charges. People who withdraw cash from their account several times every month will have to pay charges due to the new rule of SBI. In such a situation, if you also have a basic savings account of SBI, then keep in mind that do not withdraw cash more than 4 times.
