New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the youth through video conferencing in the Khelo India Dialogue. Modi said, sports not only teaches us to become champions, but sports also teaches us to become a better competitor. The Prime Minister said, on this 15th August, I presented India's sports vision to the country from the Red Fort. When I talk about sports, it is not limited to just winning medals. Referring to the Olympic Games, the Prime Minister said, Indian teams do not participate in half of the different competitions that take place in the Olympics. This means that we do not compete for a large part of the medal tally and this has been going on for decades. Modi said that I announced a big talent hunt to identify the talent of children aged 5 to 15 years in different Olympic sports. We should not just focus on the sport the child is interested in, but also identify which sport they are best suited for and train them accordingly. Today, from sports universities to modern training centres, a system is being created in the country in which support is provided at every level, from identifying talent to taking it to the world stage.
