New Delhi. Govind Dev Giri, treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has been made the new general secretary of the trust. This decision was taken in the trust meeting held today. It has been decided to elect Mahesh Bhagchandka, the new member included in the trust, as the treasurer in place of Giri. Earlier, Champat Rai was holding the responsibility of the post of General Secretary of the Trust. Questions were being raised about Champat Rai's role in the Ram Mandir donation theft case, after which he resigned from his post on June 26 on ethical grounds.

On July 6, a meeting of Ram Mandir Trust was held in which the resignations of Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra were accepted. Trust member Krishna Mohan was appointed interim general secretary. Mahesh Bhagchandka has been included in the trust today itself. Along with being made a trustee, he has been given the responsibility of the post of treasurer. Mahesh Bhagchandka, 68, resident of Delhi, is a businessman and social worker. He has written the book Purodha of Hindutva. The role of the host in the Bhoomi Pujan and Pran Pratistha programs of the construction of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple has been his participation in the rituals. He has been involved in the establishment of Shri Ram Stambh in 292 holy pilgrimage sites associated with Shri Ram Van Gaman Yatra. He is a member of the World Hindu Economic Executive.

After the trust meeting, interim general secretary Krishna Mohan said that audit was also discussed. Our internal audit as of March 31, 2026 was completed and the audited report is presented here. The total income of the Trust in the year 2025-26 was Rs 237 crore, while the expenditure was Rs 91 crore. Apart from this, capital expenditure of Rs 425 crore has been incurred on construction works etc. A total amount of Rs 1,882 crore was available with the Trust as of March 31, 2026.
