Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh government has refused to give approval to prosecute its cabinet minister Kunwar Vijay Shah. Vijay Shah was accused of saying objectionable things about Army Colonel Sofia Qureshi. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, it was decided that approval will not be given to prosecute Vijay Shah. The cabinet decision has been signed by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel. The SIT formed by the Supreme Court had sought the approval of the Madhya Pradesh government to prosecute Vijay Shah under section 196 (1) (A) of the BNS.
After taking the decision not to prosecute Kunwar Vijay Shah, the Madhya Pradesh government will file a reply in the Supreme Court.
