New Delhi. Three accused have been arrested by busting the network of 'over ground workers' linked to terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba from Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. The three people caught from Pir Panjal area used to act as guides to help Lashkar terrorists move towards Kashmir Valley. Apart from this, they also provided logistics support and many other types of assistance to the terrorists. The accused have been identified as Zakir Hussain, Mohammad Azam and Mohammad Mushtaq. Zakir and Azam are residents of Kotcharwal Teriyath of Rajouri while Mushtaq is a resident of Udhan village. Police have also recovered an IED on their spot.
Police believe that the IED recovered from these accused may have been given by the terrorists for safekeeping so that it can be used in a targeted attack. Police are interrogating these accused and taking information from them about other people involved in their network. Police suspect that these three accused helped terrorists in many major attacks. Evidence is being collected to confirm this.
Let us tell you that security forces are continuously active in Jammu and Kashmir. Just earlier this month, a terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Ashdar Gali area of Budgam. Teams of Indian Army, Srinagar CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly carried out this operation. Last month in August, a joint search operation was conducted by the Army, Srinagar CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bugam area of Kulgam. Five suspects were arrested during that operation. After the search, four 9mm pistols, four magazines, two hand grenades, ammunition and other items were recovered from them.
