Kolkata. There seems to be no end to the troubles of former West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and her MP nephew Abhishek Banerjee. Both of them can now once again come under the jurisdiction of West Bengal CID. According to reports, Abhishek Banerjee's PA Sumit Roy has revealed during interrogation that the money received from the Salboni land scam of West Bengal was deposited in the account of TMC. According to West Bengal CID, documents have revealed that between 2018 and 2021, Rs 7 crore was deposited in several installments in a bank account in Kolkata.
The bank account in which this huge amount was deposited is in the name of West Bengal Youth TMC. CID officers can now also interrogate Abhishek Banerjee in this case. Mamata Banerjee's nephew's PA told during interrogation that he did not deposit this amount of his own free will. According to Sumit Roy, he deposited the amount received from Abhishek Banerjee's treasurer in the bank. Sumit also said that he did not take any personal benefit in the matter of Salboni land. This process was completed on the instructions of TMC leadership. West Bengal CID has also given statements of many witnesses in the charge sheet. These witnesses have spoken about the exchange of money between Sumit Roy and the former MLA.
Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee is already under the scanner of CID in three cases. There are also cases of threatening and sending letters with fake signatures of MLAs to the West Bengal Assembly Speaker. The box of troubles started opening for Mamata and Abhishek Banerjee after the massive defeat of TMC in the West Bengal Assembly elections. West Bengal CM Subhendu Adhikari had said that many irregularities and scams took place during the 15-year rule of TMC. Whose culprits their government is not going to spare at any cost. Now with Sumit Roy talking about depositing crores of rupees in the party fund, BJP will get an opportunity to further target Mamata and Abhishek in West Bengal.
