After the Election Commission allotted the new name 'Mamata All India Trinamool Congress' and 'football player' election symbol to Mamata Banerjee's party, Mamata Banerjee has released the party logo today. The people have a blue background in which the party's symbol is a football player in the middle. Mamata All India Trinamool Congress is written in a round circle around the symbol. Apart from this, two marks of the tricolor are also made. Mamta wants that the new name of her party should reach every household before the by-elections to be held in Rejinagar and Nandigram on October 6.
After the defeat in the assembly elections, there was a major rebellion in the Trinamool Congress and the party got divided into two factions. The opposition group of Mamata Banerjee filed a petition before the Election Commission and claimed authority over TMC. Taking an interim decision on this issue, the Election Commission has temporarily frozen the name 'All India Trinamool Congress' and its symbol 'two flowers on the grass', while allotting a new name and election symbol to Mamata and the rebel group. Mamata's rebel group has been allotted the name 'Democratic Trinamool Congress' and 'Envelope' election symbol.
On the other hand, before the by-elections on Rejinagar and Nandigram assembly seats, a big political drama was seen last Friday and Saturday. Mamata's candidate from Nandigram Sanchita Pradhan Dey met CM Subhendu Adhikari on Friday and after that she withdrew her nomination from the elections. After this Mamta supported Congress candidate Milan Pradhan. But on the same day, Milan Pradhan was arrested by the police in an old case related to murder. The next day on Saturday, Mamata's party candidate from Rejinagar, Rabiul Alam Chaudhary announced his withdrawal from the election.
