New PCC President of UP and Punjab: Congress changed presidents in two important states, Aradhana Mishra and Imran Masood given the responsibility of UP and Pargat Singh of Punjab.

New Delhi. Before the assembly elections of UP and Punjab, Congress has made changes at the top in the organization of both the states. Congress has appointed new state presidents in UP and Punjab. Ajay Rai in UP and Amarinder Singh Raja Warding in Punjab were the state presidents of Congress. Now after removing these two, Congress has given the responsibility of UP and Punjab to other leaders. Congress has made UP MLA Aradhana Mishra Mona the state president. Also, Congress has handed over the post of working president of UP Congress to MP Imran Masood. Devinder Nishad and Alok Prasad have been made senior vice presidents in UP Congress.

In Punjab, Amarinder Singh Raja Warding had resigned from the post of President on Friday. After this, the Congress high command handed over the responsibility of party president in Punjab to Desh Sham Pargat Singh. Congress has praised the contribution of Raja Vading in the statement. Raja Vading was made the Punjab Congress President four years ago. The news of his tussle with former CM Charanjit Singh Channi was in discussion. Amarinder Singh Raja Vading met Rahul Gandhi on Thursday and submitted his resignation from the post of President. Speaking to ANI, Raja Vading said that he feels that the new in-charge of Punjab Congress, Sachin Pilot, did not want to see him on the post of state president.

Assembly elections are to be held in UP and Punjab in the next few months. UP Congress in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam had recently given a statement that the party will contest elections on at least 150 assembly seats. Gautam had said that Congress will not agree to less seats than this. At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav, president of Congress's ally Samajwadi Party in UP, has said that only winnable seats will be given. The special thing is that Congress has given the post of working president in UP to Imran Masood, a vocal opponent of Akhilesh Yadav's seat sharing formula. In such a situation, it has to be seen what is the mathematics of seat distribution between Congress and Samajwadi Party.
