Lucknow. Recently, UP Congress in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam had said that his party will contest on at least 150 seats in the UP elections. Gautam had said that it is entitled to 50 percent of the 403 assembly seats in UP if there is an alliance with SP. After this statement, now Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Shivpal Singh Patel has shown political status to Congress. Speaking to news channel Aaj Tak, SP Singh Patel said that leaving aside 150, giving even 50 seats to Congress would be a big deal. He also made a big claim about Rahul Gandhi.

SP Singh Patel said that the distribution of seats in the alliance should be done considering the political status of the parties, the number of MLAs and MPs and the strength of the organization. He told the channel that the party should also see how many MLAs and MPs it has. What is the number of workers at the grassroots level? The SP MP also advised Congress to be careful on the statements of the second line leaders of the alliance. He said that the statements of such leaders can harm the alliance. SP MP SP Singh Patel mentioned about alliance in UP in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said that Congress benefited from alliance with SP.

The SP MP said that if Congress had not formed an alliance with SP, even six MPs from UP would not have won the elections. SP Singh Patel talked about Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi was showing hesitation on contesting elections from Rae Bareli seat. In such a situation, Akhilesh Yadav clearly told Rahul Gandhi that if he does not contest the Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli, then SP will field its candidate from there. With this statement of SP MP, the rhetoric of UP Congress leaders may start again. The newly appointed working president of UP Congress, Imran Masood has already been making statements against SP on seat sharing.
